Kane's Furniture opening big store in North Naples, Fla.

Kane's Furniture will grand open its 65,000-square-foot showroom here later this month and has changed the name of its former Savon stores in Port Charlotte and Fort Myers, Fla., to Kane's Furniture.

The North Naples stores on Tamiami Trail features a new store design, including a larger bedding department, the Pinellas Park, Fla.-based Top 100 company said in a release.

At a by-invitation preview party Jan. 23, guests will receive a choice of gifts and can roll dice for a chance to win $50,000 in cash. A public event follows the next evening from 6 p.m. to midnight, where there will be a chance to win $25,000 in cash, $10,000 and $2,000 shopping sprees and furniture and mattress giveaways.

The new store will employ 50 people. Peter Venute, the store's general manager, joined Kane's Furniture in 2011 and has more than 14 years of experience in the furniture business. He is transferring from the Kane's showroom in Orlando, Fla., where he was general manager.

For the Savon stores changing to Kane's, the retailer is holding similar events at the stores, also on Jan. 23-24, with the same giveaway offers.

"This name change will help our customers easily identify who they are doing business with," Daniel Klein, executive vice president of the 18-store Kane's, said in a release.

Shoppers, he said, will "enjoy the same good service, quality furniture choices and financing options plus our Kane's Furniture lifetime warranty."
