Interior designers are predicting a shift towards warmer, more individual and layered interiors as autumn approaches, with richer colours, darker woods and vintage elements expected to gain traction.

Jenni Lauri of Lauri Design Studio expects deeper woods, lacquer, metallic finishes, aged brass and expressive stone, alongside shades of brown, burgundy, cognac and earthy neutrals. She also sees greater interest in mixing vintage and contemporary pieces. Provision Studios' Maggie Vollrath predicts vintage table settings, coloured glassware and mismatched china will bring a more collected feel to dining spaces.

Anne Pappas highlights warm browns, ochres, mossy greens, medium wood tones and historically inspired trim, while Daniella Hoffer points to mixing wood tones to create greater warmth and depth. Together, the designers anticipate more personal, lived-in interiors this season.
