Opening Gemini in 3 seconds...

At the recent Las Vegas Market, we made time to browse the newly renamed First Finds at the Expo at World Market Center Las Vegas. Tucked among the aisles were emerging makers and brands, with many emphasizing handcrafted techniques, small-batch production and goods proudly made in the USA.
Whether you’re looking to expand your assortment with locally made goods or discover the next standout artisan brand, these five exhibitors are worth exploring.

Mayan Hands offers high-quality baskets woven with pine needles by Guatemalan artisans. The long pine needles are sustainably sourced and paired with pajon, a native wild grass found in the Guatemalan Highlands. Each basket also has a subtle fragrance, adding to its appeal.

Studio Caleidoscope, a fashion accessories brand rooted in India, blends sustainable materials with traditional sewing techniques for unique pieces. The artisanal wallets and bags are made from upcycled pure leather. Each design is created in-house and then handcrafted by makers in remote villages across India. The marbling design is created by hand-dipping them in the dye; the purses are then whipstitched together with a leather strip.

The maker behind Santore Jewelry was inspired by her family to start the business in 2012. Her mother worked as a clothing designer and jewelry sales rep, while her dad trained as a geologist. Each piece of jewelry is inspired by the arts and architecture, along with the sea, earth, sun, moon and stars. They are individually handmade in made-to-order batches and feature curated stones and specialty chains.

USA-made Green Tree Jewelry is known for its eco-friendly wood and bamboo jewelry. Using water-based dyes, they offer full-color printing on wood earrings. Most notable is their Fragile What Collection, which is made to raise awareness for Fragile X syndrome. Fragile X is the most common inherited cause of intellectual disability caused by a mutation in the FMR1 gene on the X chromosome. An estimated 1 in 151 women and 1 in 468 men carry the FMR1 premutation, often without knowing it, and carriers can pass Fragile X to their children.
