Denmark furniture group expands rapidly after acquisition of Top-Line Møbelproduktion|JINHAN FAIR Buyer

A furniture group in Denmark has significantly expanded its operations following the acquisition of Top-Line Møbelproduktion, marking a period of rapid structural growth that has transformed the business into a larger, multi-site production group.

The takeover, completed in September last year, has increased the Design Concept's workforce from 43 to 344 employees in just twelve months. The expansion has effectively repositioned the business from a relatively small furniture producer into a broader industrial group with production capacity extending into Poland.

Company leadership describes the past year as one of intense transformation, driven by integration challenges and the need to stabilise newly acquired operations. According to management, the focus is now shifting from acquisition-led growth towards improving profitability and operational efficiency across the enlarged manufacturing footprint.

Co-owner and commercial director Morten Bertelsen Hertz noted that the scale of expansion has required a shift in strategic thinking, as the group adapts to managing multiple production environments and a significantly larger workforce.

The acquisition reflects a wider trend in the European furniture manufacturing sector, where consolidation is increasingly used as a strategy to build scale, secure production capacity, and strengthen competitiveness amid ongoing market pressure.

As Design Concept Denmark integrates its expanded operations, attention is expected to turn toward turning the newly enlarged production base into a sustainable and profitable structure in a challenging furniture market environment.
