From ‘Horror Ugly’ to Downright Cute: Top Plush Trends for Q4
2025.09.17
Stuffed animals have been a favorite gift for kids since the first mass-produced felt elephant was created by Margarete Steiff in 1879. Even before the first stuffed animals, as we know them today, kids were obsessed with rag dolls stuffed with straw, dating back to ancient Rome. Needless to say, plush is extremely popular in the gift and toy industry.
Over the centuries, makers have put their own twist on the category, creating teddy bears, stuffed farm animals and now “horror ugly” creatures and mythical characters. The current craze of Lububu charms and their cheaper counterparts, dubbed “lufufus,” have customers seeking out creepier plush animals and plush bag accessories to express their personality.
No matter what your customers are looking for, here are some of the latest plush introductions for 2025-2026 that tap into the top stuffed toy trends: dinos and dragons, sealife, capybaras, food-focused hybrids and “so ugly they’re cute” imaginary figures.
Of course, with the critical holiday season approaching, we’ve also added some classic, crowd-pleasing options, Christmas-themed plush and even some plush accessories, too.
