A look at Pantone color palettes of popular Instagram home influencers

2022.03.10

DORSET, U.K. – A multitude of celebrities have begun to share their homes online on platforms such as Instagram, including television presenter Stacey Solomon and Love Islanders Alex and Olivia Bowen, but garnering comparable attention is the growing number of home influencers such a Sophie Hinchliffe, who invite online lookers into their homes and showcase their styles.

The online marketplace, OnBuy Electric Fireplaces, identified the interior color palettes of some of the most influential Instagram home influencers, utilizing Pantone Connect, to discover the most in-demand colors for homes in 2021 and into 2022.

By scraping articles from reputable sources such as Vogue, Go Compare, The Tab and Influencer Matchmaker, OnBuy created a seed list of popular Instagram interior influencers with more than 300,000 followers.

Here are the top six Instagram Home Influencers and their Pantone color palettes:

Farah Merhi (@inspire_me_home_décor)

Merhi has a follower count of 6.7 million on Instagram and is the founder of Inspire Me Home Décor. As the most followed interior influencer on the social platform, Merhi welcomes her followers inside through snapshots of her curated home. She describes her home to be elegant and infused with warmth and closeness as she employs a neutral color palette of egret and bone, studded with hints of bright gold and chateau rose.

Sophie Hinchliffe (@mrshinchhome)

Sophie Hinchliffe, or Mrs. Hinch, has 4.2 million followers on Instagram and rose to stardom after sharing her cleaning tips and curated home on the platform. Best known for her signature gray home with a calming color palette, there are mirrored surfaces and tones of cool grays and soft whites throughout. To brighten up her Essex residence, Hinchliffe has opted for pine surfaces and natural foliage in her dining room for a pop of golden mist and green tones.

Hinchliffe recently moved into a new countryside farmhouse and has been posting images from Pinterest boards that she has designed to suggest how her new home might look, including a color palette she intends to follow. Straying from her signature gray, Hinchliffe is now going for a soft neutral color palette that Pantone describes as Sandshell, Winter Twig, Icicle and Tofu.

Syd and Shea McGee (@studiomcgee)

Known for Studio McGee, Syd and Shea have 3.2 million followers after the debut of their Netflix show Dream Home Makeover. Throughout their home, they employ what they describe as a “dark but light” feel, merging deeper tones of charcoal gray with white, gold hardware and nude accents.

Kelly Wearstler (@kellywearstler)

With 1.8 million Instagram followers, Wearstler is an American designer that has risen to popularity through her bold interior style that combines raw textures with deep colors, blending modernity with intensity. Throughout her home, Kelly combines deeper shades of Rugby Tan and Demitasse with intense pops of purple Flint and coral Murex Shell.
