China Furniture Industry Output

From January to December in 2011, the furniture industry in China has a recorded output of 699 million pieces, increasing by 8.27 percent year-on-year. Metal furniture stands at 360 million pieces, accounting for 52.2 percent of the total output. Wooden furniture stands at 248 million pieces, accounting for 35.45 percent of the total output. Upholstered furniture stands at 42.86 million pieces, accounting for 6.13 percent of the total output.

In terms of provincial outputs, from January to December in 2011, Zhejiang Province has recorded output of 180 million pieces, increasing by 3.75 percent, accounting for 25.88 percent of the national total. Followed by Guangdong, Fujian and Shandong Province; which accounting for 23.27 percent, 16.02 percent and 10.60 percent of the national total.

Wooden Furniture Breakdown

From January to December in 2011, the furniture industry in China has a recorded output of 699 million pieces of wooden furniture, increasing by 15.84 percent year-on-year. Shandong, Guangdong and Zhejiang Province record the most outputs, accounting for 28.40 percent, 22.95 percent and 10.31 percent of the national total.

Metal Furniture Breakdown

From January to December in 2011, the furniture industry in China has a recorded output of 360 million pieces of metal furniture, increasing by 5.85 percent year-on-year. Zhejiang, Fujian and Guangdong Province record the most outputs, accounting for 33.11 percent, 27.58 percent and 21.34 percent of the national total.

Upholstered Furniture Breakdown

From January to December in 2011, the furniture industry in China has a recorded output of 42.86 million pieces of upholstered furniture, increasing by 4.43 percent year-on-year. Zhejiang, Guangdong Province and Shanghai record the most outputs, accounting for 38.55 percent, 29.35 percent and 8.92 percent of the national total.

In all, China furniture industry has grown dramatically in 2011, in terms of output, gross output value, export volume and export value, especially major production provinces such as Zhejiang, Guangdong, Fujian and Shandong.
