Novel Breakthroughs Usher in New Trend: The 30th Jinhan Fair for Home & Gifts Inaugurated in All Pomp and Glory

Progress with you; glory along the way. The 30th Jinhan Fair for Home & Gifts is grandly inaugurated in Guangzhou. This Jinhan Fair, the 30th of its kind, makes a record in exhibition scale, with nearly 800 exhibitors to display six series of products, namely, home decorations, decorative furniture, seasonal decorations, outdoor & gardening series, gifts and household items, in Poly World Trade Center Expo with a total exhibition space of 83,000sqm. By estimate, as many as 50,000 professional buyers from over 160 countries and regions from across the world will make purchases at the Fair.

The majority of professional buyers have developed their own purchase procedures and habits at Jinhan Fair. As revealed by past editions of the Fair, in the early morning on the first day of the Fair and long before the Expo was open, long-time buyers from Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Taiwan and US had queued for quite a time outside the trade center, waiting to go inside at possibly the earliest moment. According to statistics, worldwide top-notch retailers, such as Bed Bath and Beyond, Kirkland’s and Hobby Lobby from the US, Markant from Germany, XXXLUTZ from Austria, B&M from the UK made purchases on the first day of the Fair; first-rate importers like Creative Co-op, UMA, Lifetime Brands and Midwest-CBK from the US, Boltze from Germany, JJA from France and New Track from Italy also came in due course.

Festival gifts and Christmas decorations remain the most purchased products at Jinhan Autumn Fair for Home and Gifts. To make the most of the peak of orders, the exhibitors all come up with new products and make bold breakthroughs in booth design and product display, so as to present an endlessly innovative visual feast for new and long-time buyers. The two brand new exhibition zones, respectively for the “Outdoor & Gardening Series” at the north of Exhibition Hall 1 and “Household Items and Lightings” on Floor 2+, attracted a lot of people the moment they were opened. Leading enterprises of the industry, like Minhou Minxing Arts and Crafts Co., Ltd., Fujian, Fuzhou Yetong Handicraft Co. Ltd., Shenzhen D’sily Industry Co. Ltd. and Shanghai Sincere Home Design Co. Ltd. all come with brand new products, which usher in a new trend in the global market of household items and gifts.
Zhuhai Shengyi Ceramic Co., Ltd., a new comer to Jinhan Fair, is another famous enterprise in the industry of household goods and gifts, with an annual export volume reaching up to USD10 million. President Chen of the Company said, “We enjoy booming trade even on the first morning we are here. The buyers are fairly professional. We had dozens of customers that morning, including the long-time buyer to the Fair, Edelweiss from France, and came in contact with new customers like Blessland.”
Kunstgewerbe Gehlmann from Germany is one of the Fair’s loyalist buyers. The company’s founder Irmgard Bohne indicated, “We started to attend Jinhan Fair back in 2000; we witness its evolution to its present form as a wonderful trade fair which we can’t afford to miss. 75% of our purchases in China are made at Jinhan Fair. Here many buyers from Germany and other countries of Europe also get products they need. Whether in terms of the style or the color, the products from the Fair perfectly satisfy our local market demands. ” 

Overall, foreign trade faces grave challenges, but the demand of international markets maintains the momentum of sustained recovery. This September, the growth rate of China’s export increased to 15.1%, a record high of the year. The arts and crafts export from Minhou County, Fujian Province, from January to September this year, registered an increase of 9.26% over the same period of the previous year. According to statistics, the number of buyers on the first day of the Fair records a notable increase over the same day of last year since buyers from Germany, the US, the Netherlands, France and Italy all show strong purchasing power. Purchasers are still mainly from Europe and the US; meanwhile, the number of buyers from Brazil, Turkey and Israel has greatly increased.
President Lin from Minhou Minxing Arts and Crafts Co., Fujian, indicated, “The second half of the year sees American retailers place more orders with us, which indicates the overall trade environment is favorable. All we bring for this Fair are new products, including LED iron decorations that prove very popular. In addition, we have filed patents of utility model and design for these products, to strengthen intellectual property rights protection in this regard. ”
Taizhou Yingtai Trade Co., Ltd., which attends the Fair for the third time, is a manufacturer of home decorations targeting markets of Germany and North Europe. Ms Zhu, head of the Company, said, “Besides innovative design, we make a point of improving our products’ practical function. Compared with pure decorations, the products of practical use are increasingly competitive in the market.” She also mentioned, “In spite that foreign trade environment is not that satisfactory, the market is always there. What matters is to keep abreast of changes in the market and adjust our product strategy accordingly.”
Thomas Wurm, responsible for procurement of G. Wurm, headed a four-member delegation to the Fair, with the focus of their attention placed on gifts and home decorations. He noted, “German economy is in steady development, but prospect of its market turnover is not promising as the market is shrinking.” 

During the Fair, two lectures will be held. On the afternoon of October 23, 2014, the lecture themed on 2015-2016 International Home Decoration, Accessory Trend & Application of Smart Home Design will have master designers invited from abroad to deliver the latest designs; on the afternoon of October 24, in the lecture themed on Analysis of the Latest Procurement Trends in European and American Markets, the purchase supervisor of Williams-Sonoma (China) will give a penetrating analysis of the latest purchase trends overseas, to help you grasp business opportunities and win your market.
