Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou

Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou is a grand example of Chinese architecture. Perched on the southern slope of Yuexiu Hill, this memorial hall was built between 1929 and 1931. Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall pays tribute to Dr Sun Yat-sen, who is known to be the precursor of Chinese democratic revolution while overthrowing the tyrannical empire of Ch'ing Dynasty.

Features of Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou

You will come across a standing statue of Dr. Sun in front of the memorial with his article of The Fundamentals of National Reconstruction engraved on the pedestal below the statue.

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen's Memorial Hall has an octagonal shape palace which spreads across 6 hectares with the palace covering 12,000 square meters.

A tablet containing The World is for All written by Dr. Sun, is hung above the front entrance of the hall designed with murals, red stone columns, and flower patterns ceilings

There is a display gallery showing pictures and letters of Sun Yat-sen in the hall.

There are two floors for holding 5,000 people in the hall, built in traditional Chinese architectural style.

The structure has been refurbished for more than seven time by the Government of China since 1949.

This building was once served as the official premise for the Ch'ing Dynasty
